Ingredients
You will need the following ingredients to make the syrup
- One cup of water
- One cup of sugar
- One slice of lemon
You will need these ingredients for Kunefe
- Two cups of shredded raw dough
- 100 grams of butter
- One tablespoon of additional butter for pans’ brushing
- 200 grams of mozzarella or unsalted melting cheese
- One tablespoon of pistachios – grounded for topping
Instructions
- Start the process by preparing the syrup
- Add sugar, water, and a slice of lemon to the pot
- Bring the pot to a boil
- Decrease the heat to medium or low
- Now simmer the ingredients for 10-15 minutes
- The purpose is to make the syrup thicker
- Set aside and let it cool
- Next, melt butter and coat noodles with butter
- Brush the pans with melted butter
- Now, add the buttered noodles to the pan
- Add unsalted cheese to the pan evenly
- Cover the cheese with the remaining noodles
- Next, use your hands to press them
- Cook the noodles on low heat until golden
- Cook both sides until golden brown
- Pour syrup over the golden noodles immediately after removing them from the stove
- Let the noodles absorb the syrup
- Top with ground pistachios and serve hot
