Caracoles, also known as snail tapas, are a traditional Spanish dish. You can find this dish in tapa bars and restaurants. However, there are two tapas served in Spain: Cabrillas and Caracoles. In this recipe we will list ingredients and instructions for making caracoles, a dish made with tiny snails. Read on!

Ingredients

  • One kilogram of snails
  • One onion
  • Two cloves of garlic
  • One red pepper
  • One boiled egg
  • One tomato
  • 100 grams of chorizo
  • 50 grams of nuts
  • Laurel
  • Black pepper
  • One glass of brandy

Instructions

  1. Start the process by bleaching the snails in the cooking water
  2. The purpose is to remove slime
  3. Cook for a third time for about 15 minutes
  4. Add onions to olive oil and cook for a few minutes
  5. Now add a bay leaf and red pepper and flame the ingredients with brandy
  6. Add diced tomatoes and cook to obtain a sauce
  7. Put in snails once you have cooked the sauce
  8. Cook the snails for 20-25 minutes
  9. Add ham, garlic, chorizo, and olive oil
  10. Combine these ingredients with snails
  11. Add some nuts and a boiled egg
  12. Cook for a few minutes
  13. Add salt to adjust the taste
  14. Serve to your family or friends
