How to make Kofta: Turk’s Meatballs
Turkish meatballs, also known as kofta, are famous worldwide. It contains lamb, whole wheat bread, eggs, garlic, cumin, olive oil, black pepper, and salt. Here is the list of ingredients and instructions to make Turkish meatballs.
Ingredients
- Two slices of whole-wheat bread
- One pound of lean lamb – ground
- One egg
- Two tablespoons of fresh parsley – chopped
- Two cloves of garlic
- One teaspoon of cumin – ground
- One teaspoon of mint – dried
- A half teaspoon of ground allspice
- A half teaspoon of salt
- A half teaspoon of black pepper – ground
- One tablespoon of olive oil
Instructions
- Start the process by tearing up bread slices in a food processor
- Add egg and ground lamb and blend again
- Add garlic, parsley, mint, cumin, allspice, pepper, and salt
- Roll the mixture into the smaller meatballs
- Heat olive oil in a large-sized skillet over medium-high heat
- Cook meatballs in the skillet for five to ten minutes per batch
- Transfer the meatballs to a plate lined with a paper towel
