How to make Pilav (Pilaf): Turkish Pulao

Unlike regular rice, pilaf has a different flavor and taste because it contains toasted butter. Thus, the Turkish pulao has a nutty flavor and mouthwatering taste, thanks to the vegetable oil and lemon juice. Here are the ingredients and instructions to make pilaf. Read on!


  • One cup of rice
  • 50 grams of butter
  • One tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • One or two cups of boiling water
  • Three drops of lemon juice
  • Salt


  1. Wash the rice under hot water
  2. Drain the rice and set aside
  3. Now melt butter in a saucepan
  4. Make sure the heat is low
  5. Next, add olive oil to the saucepan
  6. Add the rice to a saucepan and salt based on your taste
  7. Add boiling water and lemon juice to the saucepan
  8. Cover the saucepan and simmer
